Long ago, in the heart of a forest older than memory, a solitary seeker named Aerobus Woodbine wandered the hidden paths in search of something deeper than mere knowledge—he sought wisdom. After a year and a day of meditation beneath the twisted boughs of an ancient Thorn tree, Aerobus was visited by the Spirit of the Forest, an elemental being woven from bark, breath, and starlight. The Spirit called upon him to found a sanctuary where magic would be taught in harmony with the five sacred elements. From the mists emerged five luminous animals, each bearing the essence of one elemental path and the spirit of a House. First came the owl, piercing the night with silent wings, bringing the wisdom of Air to form House Thistlemark, guardians of intellect, language, and clarity. Next leapt the cunning fox, aflame with purpose, gifting the fire of ambition and transformation to House Dreadfyre, keepers of courage and innovation. From the river’s depths swam the salmon, ancient traveler of memory and intuition, whose presence birthed House Nightthorn, the house of emotion, healing, and inner vision. Emerging from the forest thickets, the proud stag arrived to create House Verdigrim, the Earth-bound house of resilience, tradition, and sacred stewardship. Finally, stepping through the veil between worlds came the white stag, radiant and rare, its antlers glowing with spirit-light, ushering in House Lumenaether, devoted to unity, transcendence, and the mysteries that bind all things. Thus was born The Thorn Academy of Magic, where each student is sorted into a House aligned with their astrological and magical correspondences, and where the elemental truths guide their path. From the sacred grove to the halls of study, Aerobus’s vision endures—a living school rooted in ancient wisdom and ever-reaching toward the stars.
