Cancellation Policy

Marriage Officiant Service Agreement Bull and Thorn Metaphysical Services Based in Cumberland, Maryland This Agreement is between the Client and Bull and Thorn Metaphysical Services (including officiants such as Rev. Dr. Gabriel Silent or Rev. Aerobus Woodbine) for officiant services. 1. Booking & Confirmation All ceremonies must be booked at least 30 days in advance. Bookings made with less than 30 days’ notice incur a $75 rush fee. All bookings must be completed through our website. A booking is only confirmed once payment is received. By booking, you agree to these terms. 2. Payment A 50% deposit is required to reserve your date. The balance is due 7 days before the event. For short-notice bookings (within 7 days), full payment is required upfront. Travel-related costs beyond 50 miles may be invoiced separately and must be paid in advance. 3. Cancellation & Refunds Cancellations 7 or more days before the event will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee and a portion of the deposit: 21+ days: Full deposit refunded 14–20 days: 25% of deposit withheld 7–13 days: 50% of deposit withheld Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable. In case of illness, emergency, or severe weather, we will work to reschedule or offer a virtual alternative. 4. Travel The Basic Ceremony ($150) includes travel within 20 miles of Cumberland, MD. Out-of-Town Ceremonies ($300) cover up to 50 miles. Greater distances may incur additional travel or lodging fees with prior agreement. 5. Legal Requirements Our officiants are legally ordained and authorized to solemnize marriages in Maryland per Family Law § 2–406. Clients must obtain and present a valid marriage license before the ceremony. Without it, the event will be symbolic only. 6. Ceremony Details Includes one consultation and a personalized script. Optional rituals (handfasting, unity, etc.) can be included if arranged in advance. Ceremonies are non-denominational and tailored to your values. 7. Virtual Ceremonies Offered via Zoom or Google Meet. A test session may be scheduled. Virtual ceremonies may not be legally binding in Maryland unless state law permits. 8. Conduct We serve all couples. We reserve the right to decline any service where the environment is unsafe or discriminatory. 9. Agreement By booking and submitting payment, you agree to this legally binding Agreement. This contract is governed by Maryland law.
